Maryville Academy offers a safe, structured, therapeutic program in a framework designed to help students develop skills to effectively and successfully transition back into the regular classroom setting when placement in their home school is not appropriate. We desire to build positive relationships with our students and their families and maintain constant communication with all roles involved in the progress of the student.
We have a level system designed to help students become academically and behaviorally accountable while incorporating various interventions and a wide variety of incentives, privileges and rewards for those who meet their goals.
Social Skills is a required curriculum component of our program and has proven to be an essential and beneficial tool to help students become more self-assessing and self-aware. They develop positive behavioral habits for relationships with themselves, family, and their community.
Maryville Academy has a strong substance prevention program with a licensed A & D counselor on staff.
Academics are also strongly addressed by three certified teachers and two teaching assistants. The curriculum and sequence of the Intermediate Schools, Maryville Junior High and Maryville High School are closely followed.Julie Hilborn is the program director.
