  • ANNOUNCEMENT REGARDING THE ECLIPSE ON AUGUST 21ST.

Released August 11, 2017:  Due to traffic and safety concerns anticipated in school zones before, during, and after the eclipse on August 21st, Dr. Mike Winstead, Director of Schools, announced today that all schools will now be closed for the eclipse.

Dr. Winstead said, “Originally our plan was to release students in grades K-7 early enough to get home before the eclipse, rather than being on the bus during this historic event.  This would allow students in grades 8-12 to view the eclipse in an academic setting.  With input received from a variety of sources and out of an abundance of caution for the safety of all students and staff, we will close all schools for the day on August 21st.”

Adventure Club and Central Office will also be closed.
